Apple today announced a media event, to be held on Monday, October 30 at 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time. Apple is expected to unveil several refreshed Macs during the event. Apple’s Events website features an Apple logo on a black background that morphs into the Mac Finder icon, confirming the event’s Mac focus.
As has become traditional, the event will be prerecorded, and it will be streamed online, with no in-person attendance.
We’ve seen several rumors over the last few months or so, so there are several possibilities as to what we’ll see. We will likely see a new 24-inch iMac, as that lineup is currently powered by the now-old M1 chip. While Bloomberg’s Mrk Gurman has warned not to expect to see a MacBook Air refresh, although we could see at least a processor updated for the 13-inch MacBook Pro, 14-inch MacBook Pro, and 16-inch MacBook Pro, possibly with M3 chips that are fabricated using TSMC’s 3-nanometer process. (The “Scary Fast” part of Apple’s event could refer to the M3 chips.)
Apple will stream the event live on its website, on YouTube, and through the Apple TV app on various device platforms.
