Apple’s October 30 “Scary Fast” event will focus on M3-powered MacBook Pro models, according to Apple industry analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. The wording of Kuo’s X post indicates that he is expecting multiple M3 chips rather than just a single M3 chip, hinting at the possibility of M3, M3 Pro, and M3 Max chips.
I believe M3 series MacBook Pro will be Oct 30th media event's focus. I previously predicted a launch this year is unlikely due to limited 4Q23 shipments (less than 400-500k units in total). If new MBPs launch in Nov-Dec, tight supply will last into 1Q24 unless demand weakens. pic.twitter.com/R6tVIYyQop

If Apple does simultaneously release multiple M3 chips, we’ll likely see the new chips introduced in 13-inch, 14-inch, and 16-inch MacBook Pro models.

Kuo’s comments jibe with Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, who has said that Apple is testing M3 Max and M3 Pro MacBook models. Gurman appears to have changed his mind on the subject, as just last week he said Apple would not update the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models with M3 Pro and M3 Max chips until early 2024.
As I reported in August, Apple has been testing M3 Max and M3 Pro 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros. These include up to 16 CPU cores and 40 GPU cores, setting the stage for its most powerful laptops to date. And MacBook Pro inventory has run dry. https://t.co/4HOQGrK10a

Gurman continues to claim that Apple will not refresh its MacBook Air models, Mac mini, Mac Studio, or Mac Pro this time around, which means we’ll likely see updated iMac, 13-inch MacBook Pro, 14-inch MacBook Pro, and 16-inch MacBook Pro at Apple’s October event.
