Tim Cook Says Apple Vision Pro On-Track, He Watched Entire Third-Season of Ted Lasso on the Device

Apple CEO Tim Cook told CBS Sunday Morning‘s John Dickerson that the Cupertino company’s Vision Pro headset is on schedule for an early 2024 release. Cook revealed that he’s been using the headset on a regular, and entertaining, basis.

Cook disclosed that he had watched “the entire third season of ‘Ted Lasso’ on the Vision Pro,” and admitted there are “some things I have access to that other people don’t have access to, so I’m doing that, but that I can’t talk to you about.”

Cook went on to say that although the challenges that Apple has faced in creating and producing the headset are “more complex” than that of another device, as it requires “more innovation, not only in the development but also in the manufacturing.” That said, Cook dismissed any suggestion that the company was facing production issues with the Vision Pro, saying the device was “on track” for a launch early next year.

During the interview, Cook also discussed other topics including Apple’s environmental initiatives, whether Apple should be advertising on X, and the post-pandemic return to working in the office.

During the CBS Sunday Morning episode, Cook is seen taking a sales call with a surprised customer. “The caller wanted to upgrade their iPhone,” Cook later explained to Dickerson. Did he tell the caller to hold out for the iPhone 15? “I didn’t exactly say that,” Cook laughed.
