A new rumor coming out of Asia claims Apple’s 2024 iPad Pro models will be available in a 4TB storage option. News aggregator account “yeux1122” on the Korean Naver blog (via @Tech_Reve), claims Apple will double the storage capacity of the upcoming iPad Pro models. The Cupertino firm’s current 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro both max out at 2TB of storage.
The rumor is said to be based on information from a parts company in Apple’s supply chain, but no other information is provided.
Yeux1122 has a mixed track record when it comes to accurate rumors, so keep the usual “rumor” caveats in mind. That said, the idea that Apple will up the storage for its next-generation iPad Pros is not out of the question. Considering that the current sixth-generation iPad Pro models support ProRes video recording up to 4K at 30fps, additional storage is not out of the question. (4K video gobbles up storage space.)
Apple’s next-generation OLED iPad Pro models to hit shelves in 2024, and Apple is expected to start mass production sometime at the beginning of 2024. The redesigned iPad Pro models will be accompanied by a new version of the Magic Keyboard with a larger trackpad and an aluminum top case, making the iPad Pro more resemble a laptop than the current model.
