Apple Retail Stores Now Offering Home Delivery Option for Large In-Store Purchases

It’s happened to many of us. We go into an Apple retail store to buy a charging cable or an iPhone case but we can’t take our eyes off that shiny new iMac sitting on the display table, and end up buying one and carrying the big bulky iMac all the way home.

Well, fear that no longer, as Apple today announced Easy Pay Online Ordering, which gives customers the option to have the products that are purchased in-store delivered later to their home. In addition to making the purchase of large and bulky items much easier, it also allows a store employee to sell and arrange delivery for out-of-stock items, which would allow them to make the sale and avoid having the customer leave the store empty-handed, leading to the possible loss of a sale.

This new delivery option means that customers will no longer have to drag heavy, large-boxed items to their vehicles in the parking lot or deal with weighty items on public transportation. It also will help prevent getting knocked in the head in the parking garage and having it taken from you by a bad actor.

Alternatively, ordering via Apple’s online store can also be used to have any item delivered to your home..

According to a memo sent to retail store staff in July, Apple had intended to roll out the new “EasyPay Online Ordering” program in early August, so it’s only a month or so late.
