Apple Releases macOS Ventura 13.6, Includes Security Fixes

Apple today released macOS Ventura 13.6, which is the sixth major update to the ‌macOS Ventura‌ operating system. ‌The new update comes almost two months after the release of macOS Ventura 13.5.

The ‌macOS Ventura‌ 13.6 update can be downloaded for free on compatible Macs using the Software Update section of System Preferences.

According to Apple’s release notes, ‌macOS Ventura‌ 13.6 brings important bug fixes and security updates. Apple recommends that all users install the software.

Impact: A local attacker may be able to elevate their privileges. Apple is aware of a report that this issue may have been actively exploited against versions of iOS before iOS 16.7.

Apple has also released macOS 12.7 for Macs that are not compatible with Ventura.

macOS Ventura‌ 13.6 is expected to be one of the last updates to the ‌macOS Ventura‌ operating system, as Apple will release macOS Sonoma, the newest version of macOS, on September 26.
