A new IDC report shared by Apple reveals that 76% of IT decision-makers (ITDMs) believe that the Mac platform is more secure than other platforms.
IDC conducted an online survey of ITDMs in the United States and Canada in July 2023, in which they asked survey participants about their views on security, as well as the importance of securing their computers. Respondents were from a mix of companies in multiple industries, employing 500 employees.
The participants provide support for multiple operating systems, including macOS, Windows, and ChromeOS. They select, purchase, or deploy security software for their company, or manage the people responsible for doing so.
47% of companies surveyed plan to adopt more Macs in their IT department due to the belief that it’s more secure. 36% responded that the top reason for adopting more Macs is the ease of deployment and management.
