Apple Pay is available in more than 80 countries worldwide, and Vietnam and Chile have now joined the list and accept the contactless mobile payment service.
Apple has slowly been expanding its Apple Pay network to various countries for quite a few years. Earlier this month, a rumor indicated the payment service would roll out to Vietnam and Chile as soon as August 8.
As first reported by 9to5Mac, an X post by user @aaronp613 on Monday said Apple has officially updated the Apple Pay backend to launch support in Vietnam. TPBank, which is a local bank in the area, has since launched a dedicated website letting its customers know they can now add their cards to their iPhone’s Wallet app.
Apple’s Chilean website for the service went live later on Monday evening.
Once Apple Pay arrives in their country, users can add their credit or debit card to the service by doing the following:
