Google has quietly increased its YouTube Premium subscription prices for new subscribers in the United States. Individual YouTube Premium subscriptions are now $13.99 per month, up 2 bucks from the previous $11.99 pricepoint. Subscribing monthly from within the iOS YouTube app has also gone up to $18.99, from the previous $15.99 cost.
Annual plans have gone up $20.00, from $119.99 to $139.99, while the YouTube Premium student plan has also gone up from $6.99 per month to $7.99 per month. The family plan remains unchanged at $22.99 per month.
The price of YouTube Music Premium is increasing from $9.99 to $10.99 per month.
While Google has yet to officially announce the price hikes, the increases are already on YouTube’s Premium plan sign-up webpage. YouTube Premium’s 1-month free trial offer is still available.
Existing subscribers will likely be informed soon that they’ll be hit with the new prices at some point, perhaps when their monthly or annual memberships are up for renewal.
YouTube Premium subscription prices appear to be unchanged in the United Kingdom and elsewhere, at least for now.
YouTube Premium provides ad-free viewing, the ability to play videos while using other apps, the ability to download videos for offline playback, and more.
