macOS Ventura 13.5 Released to Public – Patches Exploited Vulnerabilities

Apple on Monday released macOS Ventura 13.5 to the public. The latest version of the operating system comes one month after ‌macOS Ventura‌ 13.4.

The ‌macOS Ventura‌ update can be downloaded for free on compatible Macs using the Software Update section of System Preferences.

According to Apple’s release notes, ‌macOS Ventura‌ 13.5 introduces important bug fixes and security updates. Apple recommends that all users install the software.

A report from MacRumors says the update includes several fixes for kernel vulnerabilities, including one that could allow an app to modify a sensitive kernel state. The updates also fix a WebKit vulnerability that Apple says could have been actively exploited. However, Apple first addressed this issue with the iOS 16.5.1 (c) and ‌macOS Ventura‌ 13.4.1 (c) Rapid Security Responses, so some ‌users may have already had installed protection from this issue.

macOS Ventura‌ 13.4 is expected to be one of the last updates to the ‌macOS Ventura‌ operating system, as Apple is expected to debut a new version of macOS at its Worldwide Developer Conference in June.
