Apple Releases watchOS 9.6 to Public

Apple today released watchOS 9.6 to the public. The update is compatible with the Apple Watch Series 4 and later. The new update comes a month following the release of watchOS 9.5.

watchOS 9.6 can be downloaded for free through the dedicated Apple Watch app on the iPhone by going to “General” -> “Software Update.” The Apple Watch needs to have at least a 50% battery charge, needs to be on a charger, and needs to be in the range of the ‌‌iPhone‌‌.

According to Apple, the update includes bug fixes and security improvements for Apple Watch owners, with no new specific features.

watchOS 9.5 is expected to be one of the final updates to the watchOS 9 operating system as Apple is expected to preview watchOS 10 at WWDC in June.
