Best Buy is expanding its Upgrade+ program to include more Apple products. The latest additions to the program are the iPad Pro and Apple Watch Ultra.
The Electronics retailer in October 2022 began offering the Mac in the program, in partnership with Apple with financing provided by Citizens Pay. In December, Best Buy added more Mac models to the program.
On Wednesday, the retailer announced the addition of the iPad Pro and Apple Watch Ultra into the Upgrade+ program, which is powered by a “buy now, pay later” service dubbed Citizens Pay. The Upgrade+ program offers customers the opportunity to finance their device purchases and spread the payments over 36 months.
At the end of 36 months, customers have the option to upgrade to a newer device at the 37th-month mark, pay a final balloon payment and keep the device, return the device and continue in the program with a newer model, or return the device and exit the program.
As an example, if customers opt for an iPad Pro or Apple Watch Ultra, they’ll pay as low as $17.32 per month for 36 months, with a final payment of $175.78 due in the 37th month, based on an original price of $799.
After 36 months, customers who purchase select models will have the option to:
- Upgrade to a newer model by returning the qualifying product and remaining in the program
- Make the final payment to keep the device that was originally purchased
- Or simply return the device and leave the program.
If a customer chooses to either upgrade to a newer model or to return the original product, Best Buy will make the final payment on their behalf.
AppleCare+ is also available through the program to keep their devices protected, as well as select Apple accessories. Financing options are available for these additional purchases over 36 months.
Members of Best Buy’s Totaltech program who purchase an iPad Pro or Apple Watch Ultra via the Upgrade+ program will receive the standard AppleCare+ benefit included in their membership, at no additional cost, for up to 24 months during the active period of their membership.
On June 27, Totaltech will transition to My Best Buy Total™ and will still include AppleCare+ as a membership benefit.
