Apple MagSafe Charger Firmware Updated to Version 10M3761

Apple on Tuesday released updated firmware for the MagSafe Charger for the iPhone 12 and later. The updated firmware is version 10M3761, up from the prior 10M1821 firmware. In the Settings app, you’ll see a different version number than the firmware number, with the update displayed as version 258.0.0 (the prior firmware was 255.0.0).

The MagSafe Charger debuted in fall 2020 alongside iPhone 12 models and has previously had its firmware updated once since its initial release.  This is the fourth firmware update that Apple has provided since the accessory launched.

Apple does firmware updates quietly over the air and the Cupertino firm does not provide release notes to indicate any new features or bug fixes that might be included with the update.

While there is no set of steps to manually update the MagSafe Charger’s firmware. However, it does need to be plugged in and connected to an Apple device for a firmware update to occur.

There is also no clear method for updating a ‌MagSafe‌ charger’s firmware, but it needs to be plugged in and connected to an Apple device for a firmware update to initiate.
