Lucky Developers Who Won Lottery Begin Receiving WWDC Apple Park Viewing Event Invites

Apple is now sending out email invitations to developers that have been selected to attend the WWDC 2023 viewing event set for Monday, June 5 at the Apple Park campus in Cupertino, California.

Apple began accepting requests for the event on Wednesday, March 29, the same day that the company announced the dates for the 34th Worldwide Developers Conference. Apple told developers they would be informed if they were selected by 6:00 p.m. Pacific Time on Wednesday, April 5. April 4 was the submission deadline.

Attendees were selected based on a random lottery system. Apple Developer Program members, prior-year Swift Student Challenge winners, and Apple Entrepreneur Camp alumni were eligible to enter. Apple will also invite students who win this year’s Student Challenge, but that is a separate lottery.

Apple’s WWDC keynote event will be held on Monday, June 5 and Apple will unveil iOS 17, iPadOS 17, tvOS 17, watchOS 10, and macOS 14. We may also see new hardware announcements. This year’s event is expected to focus on the AR/VR headset that Apple has in development, and we could also see new Macs.

Those who plan to attend the viewing event will need to RSVP by April 10, and invitations are non-transferable. While the event itself is free, developers and students will need to pay for their own travel costs.
