Apple today announced it plans to report its earnings results for the second fiscal quarter (first calendar quarter) of 2023 on Thursday, May 4. A conference call to discuss second fiscal quarter results and business updates is scheduled for later that day, at 2:00 p.m. PT / 5:00 p.m. ET.
The earnings report will indicate how well Apple performed in the late December to March period, which is traditionally a slow quarter for Apple, as it follows the high-selling holiday quarter. However, Apple may still do well, as it debuted new M2 Pro and M2 Mac MacBook Pro models, new Mac mini models, an updated full-size HomePod, and a yellow iPhone 14 model.
Apple announced its fiscal first-quarter 2023 (fourth calendar quarter) revenue results in February. It reported revenue of $117.2 billion and a net quarterly profit of $30.0 billion, or $1.88 per diluted share. That is compared to revenue of $123.9 billion and a net quarterly profit of $34.6 billion, or $2.10 per diluted share, in the year-ago quarter.
As they’ve done for the past several straight quarters, Apple once again did not issue guidance for the fiscal second quarter.
Apple’s quarterly earnings statement will be released at 1:30 p.m. Pacific/4:30 p.m. Eastern Time, with a conference call to discuss the report taking place at 2:00 p.m. Pacific/5:00 p.m. Eastern.
