Apple has released a new 16.4 firmware Release Candidate for the Studio Display. Apple has not provided details on what is included in the firmware update.
While all Studio Displays are able to receive over-the-air firmware updates, this firmware update is currently limited to Macs that are running the macOS Ventura 13.3 beta. After installing the macOS Ventura 13.3 beta, Studio Display owners can go to “System Preferences” -> “Software Update” to install the firmware.
Studio Display owners not currently running macOS 13.3 will be able to download the new firmware when the update is released to the public.
As is usual for beta updates, Apple and Mactrast strongly recommend not installing beta or Release Candidate firmware on your daily driver Studio Display, instead reserving beta usage on units set aside for testing and development.
