Apple on Monday released Rapid Security Response updates for iPhones running the iOS 16.4 beta and for Macs running the macOS 13.3 Ventura beta. Both are likely test releases, given the tiny file size involved.
The Rapid Security Response Updates are available via the standard Software Update mechanisms in iOS 16.4 and macOS 13.3 Ventura betas. They are quick updates, requiring just a couple of minutes to download and prepare. A quick restart and the updates are installed. Actual updates including security code will likely be just as quick.
After the update has been installed, the system will show an updated version of iOS 16.4 (b). By tapping on the version number in the About section of Settings, information is displayed about the installed iOS version and the Rapid Security Response update. Users will be able to roll back the security update if they so desire.
If you ever need to roll back from a Rapid Security Response, you can do so by following the steps found here.
