Microsoft has announced that its AI-enhanced Bing browser now includes Bing Image Creator, image-generating technology powered by OpenAI’s DALL-E deep learning model.
We’re excited to announce we are bringing Bing Image Creator, new AI-powered visual Stories and updated Knowledge Cards to the new Bing and Edge preview. Powered by an advanced version of the DALL∙E model from our partners at OpenAI, Bing Image Creator allows you to create an image simply by using your own words to describe the picture you want to see. Now you can generate both written and visual content in one place, from within chat.
We know from research that the human brain processes visual information about 60,000 times faster than text, making visual tools a critical way people search, create and gain understanding. Based on Bing data, images are one of the most searched categories – second only to general web searches. Historically, search was limited to images that already existed on the web. Now, there are almost no limits to what you can search for and create.
Microsoft says that the Bing Image Creator will bring AI-powered visual stories and updated Knowledge Cards to both Bing and the Microsoft Edge preview.
Users can benefit from the Image Creator being integrated into the Bing AI chat experience. Simply typing in a description of an image, including contextual clues, such as activity or location, and including an art style will cause the Image Creator to create a unique image.

Microsoft is working with OpenAI to prevent potential misuse of the image creator and has safeguards and protections in place to limit the generation of harmful or unsafe images.
Access to the Bing Image Creator also requires access to the Bing preview or the new Microsoft Edge experience. Not all Bing preview users will have access to the Image Creator right away, so be patient.
