Hulu Begins Rolling Out New Vertical Sidebar in Its Apple TV, Roku, Fire TV, Other Set-Top Box Apps

TechCrunch reports that Hulu has begun rolling out an updated interface design on its Apple TV, Fire TV, Roku, and other set-top boxes. The revamped interface brings a new left-hand-side vertical navigation bar, designed to make it easier to navigate the streaming service’s content.

Hulu told TechCrunch that it has started rolling the sidebar design out to some users, and it will continue rolling out over the next few weeks. ‌Apple TV‌ users should start seeing it this week, though not everyone will immediately see the new nav bar.

Users will press the back button on their remote to open up the new Hulu sidebar, providing faster access to the app’s navigation options. This should be an improvement over the old Hulu interface, which required users to scroll to the top of the app screen to access the navigation bar.

Hulu is $7.99 per month for its ad-supported service tier, while the ad-free plan is priced at $12.99 per month. Hulu’s Live TV options start at $69.99 per month.
