Apple on Tuesday seeded the third betas of iOS 16.4 and iPadOS 16.4 updates to developers. The new betas come one week following the release of the second betas.
The developer beta builds are available to developers through the Apple Developer Center or over the air on devices with the proper configuration installed.
This beta brings the page-turning animation as an option, which is a welcome change for the Apple Books readers who missed it after it was removed in iOS 16.
As mentioned by MacRumors, the code in the iOS 16.4 beta indicates that Apple is continuing to work on the Apple Music Classical app, indicating that the long-expected app could launch in the reasonably near future.
Also in the code are indications that users in South Korea will soon be able to add credit and debit cards to the Wallet app for use with Apple Pay.
Under “Settings” -> “General” -> “About” in the “Coverage” section that lists your Apple devices covered by AppleCare+, all listed products now have an icon next to them.
The Podcasts app now provides support for channels in Library, offers expanded CarPlay functionality, and an improved Up Next feature that allows listeners to resume episodes and skip what they don’t want to listen to.
Safari Web Push notifications have been added for the iPhone and iPad, and users can receive them from websites that have been added to the Home Screen on their device.
As usual, MacTrast and Apple both warn users to not install any betas on their daily driver iPhone or iPad. Instead, only install betas on a device set aside for testing purposes.
