Apple has released a fourth 16.4 firmware beta that’s designed for the Studio Display. The beta comes a week after the third Studio Display 16.4 beta. Apple has not provided details on what’s included in the new firmware beta.
While all Studio Displays are able to receive over-the-air firmware updates, this firmware update is currently limited to Macs that are running the macOS Ventura 13.3 beta. After installing the macOS Ventura 13.3 beta, Studio Display owners can go to “System Preferences” -> “Software Update” to install the firmware.
As is usual for beta updates, Apple and Mactrast strongly recommend not installing beta firmware on your daily driver Studio Display, instead reserving beta usage on units set aside for testing and development.
