Apple Announces WWDC 2023 Event – Runs June 5th to 9th

Apple today announced that it will hold its 34th annual Worldwide Developers Conference from Monday, June 5 to Friday, June 9. The conference will be held mostly online, and it will be open to all developers at no cost.

Along with announcements shared from the keynote and State of the Union presentations, this year’s online program will include sessions, one-on-one labs, and opportunities to engage with Apple engineers and other developers.

Developers and students will also have the opportunity to attend a special day at Apple Park on June 5 to watch the keynote and State of the Union, alongside the global online community. Space for this in-person event will be limited, and details on how to apply to attend can be found on the Apple Developer site and app. Apple plans to select attendees by random lottery, with notifications to go out by April 5 at 6:00 p.m.

There will also be a traditional Swift Student Challenge, with Apple accepting applications through April 19.

Apple’s WWDC keynote event will be held on Monday, June 5 and Apple will unveil iOS 17, iPadOS 17, tvOS 17, watchOS 10, and macOS 14. We may also see new hardware announcements. This year’s event is expected to focus on the AR/VR headset that Apple has in development, and we could also see new Macs.

Apple has held virtual WWDC events ever since 2020, due to COVID-19 cautions. While Apple had been expected to return to an in-person WWDC event eventually, the Cupertino firm is choosing to continue to hold events on a virtual basis.

Developers will receive additional information in advance of ‌WWDC 2023‌ via email, in the Apple Developer app, and on the Apple Developer website.
