WhatsApp Mac Beta With Native Apple Silicon Support Now Available to All

An updated beta version of the WhatsApp for Mac, sporting Apple Silicon support, is now available to all WhatsApp users who want to give it a try. The new version has been in development since last summer.

As reported by WABetaInfo, the Mac app with native Apple Silicon support can be downloaded from the WhatsApp website.

After releasing a very limited early-beta program of WhatsApp beta for macOS for a small number of people on TestFlight, WhatsApp has finally made the beta version of its new native app widely available for download on the official website in case you were unable to get it from the TestFlight app.

The download is available directly by clicking here.

WhatsApp Desktop users have been using our web-based desktop app (WhatsApp Desktop) or our browser-based app (WhatsApp Web). As we’re always trying to improve the WhatsApp experience for our users, we’re developing apps native to Windows and Mac operating systems.
Advantages of native apps:
  • Increased reliability and speed
  • Designed and optimized for your desktop operating system
  • Continue to receive notifications and messages even when your phone is offline

The Apple silicon-optimized app should run faster and use less resources on machines powered by Apple Silicon ( the M1, M1 Pro, M1 Max, M1 Ultra, M2, ‌M2‌ Pro, and ‌M2‌ Max chips).
