Apple is working to restructure its services division to prepare for the departure of services executive Peter Stern, reports Business Insider. Stern, who has worked for Apple for over six years and serves as Apple’s vice president of services overseeing Apple TV+, Sports, Apple News+, iCloud, Apple Fitness+, Books, Apple Arcade, and Apple One, is reported to be leaving the company.
Stern has reported to Apple’s head of services chief Eddy Cue, working alongside Cue to expand Apple’s services offerings. Once Stern officially departs, Apple will be restructuring its services business, splitting the services unit and Stern’s responsibilities into three separate divisions.
Todd Teresi, Apple’s VP of advertising, was said to be taking on more responsibility, along with Oliver Schusser, who is currently in charge of Apple Music, and Robert Kondrk, whose current title is VP, Apple Product Services and Design.
Although Stern has been seen as a possible successor to Eddy Cue, taking over Apple’s service’s division once Cue steps down, he has told colleagues that he is leaving in order to spend more time on the East Coast. He is reportedly set to leave the company at the end of this month.
In fiscal 2022, Apple’s services division earned $78 billion, up $10 billion from 2021.
