There are wall chargers and then there are desktop chargers. One keeps the charging ports at the wall and the other conveniently puts the USB-C ports where you need them, on your desk or on top of a table. Hyper’s HyperJuice 245W GaN Desktop Charger supplies two MacBook Pros, one iPad Pro, and one iPhone 14 Pro Max’s worth of power at your fingertips.
The HyperJuice 245W GaN desktop charger is billed by Hyper as the world’s first and smallest multi-port desktop charger at this wattage output. While they technically have a wall charger that supports 140W from a single USB-C port for the newest MacBook Pro 16”, this desktop charger sports four ports rated at 100W each. It has PowerDelivery 3.0 and GaN Fast technology.
You can charge four mid-size 60W laptops at the same time, like the MacBook Pro 13” or the MacBook Air that uses 30W. The 245W GaN charger can also handle two MacBook Pro 16” laptops, an iPhone 14 and an iPad Pro 11”, at the same time.
I visited the Hyper / Targus booth again this year at CES to check out a prototype of the 245W charger and their 245W USB-C battery pack. Because it was still a year in which many countries were limiting international travel, I included this charger in my live CES report on Beartai. This is the most popular technology show in Thailand that broadcasts to 69 million plus people and it is syndicated on their YouTube channel of the same name, with over 1.1 million subscribers.
GaN technology is the next level in power semiconductors that are made with Gallium Nitride. Using GaN tech allows for smaller, faster, and more efficient silicon-based chargers. While most other chargers get very hot while charging at full speed, GaN is able to reduce heat by a large margin.
Hyper’s charger is made to be slim, so it is also portable for life on the go. When using this charger at work or home, it frees up desk space too. The included AC extension cord ensures that you will be able to use this where you want to, rather than being huddled up next to a wall outlet.
I used to need a power strip to plug in all of my off-sized chargers. When using the HyperJuice 245W charger, I was able to unplug the power strip. Now I have a much cleaner-looking charging area with braided USB-C cables plugged into my various gadgets.
It cleaned up my space and it intelligently sends the right amount of power to any of the devices. The older chargers wasted electricity all day. Now, I only have one four-port charger that covers everything that I need to power up at home and when I travel.
Charging protocols matter and Hyper has you covered here too. The HyperJuice 245W GaN desktop charger supports PD 3.0, QC 4.0+, and PPS for iPhone, iPad, Android, PC, Chromebook, and Samsung Fast Charge. It will detect how fast to charge your gadgets when they are plugged in.
Everyone has so many iPhones, Androids, smarthome screens, iPads, headphones and Chromebooks. Hyper’s HyperJuice GaN charger with 245W of power will fast charge everything that you have and ensure that you can get back to being productive or streaming the latest show.
