Apple today released a new firmware update for the second-generation AirPods Pro. The existing 5A377 firmware has been updated to version 5B58.
Apple did not announce what features or fixes might be included in the new firmware. However, we will announce any new features or fixes in this space if and when we hear about them. It is likely that the update simply includes bug fixes.
There isn’t any way to manually update the firmware of the earbuds, and the new software will be installed over the air while the AirPods, AirPods Pro, or AirPods Max are connected via Bluetooth to an iOS device.
If you place the AirPods in their case, connect them to a power source, and then pair them to an iPhone or iPad, they should update after a short period of time.
