Apple earlier this week significantly lowered its trade-in values for select models of the iPhone, Apple Watch, iPad, and Mac in the United States. This means customers will receive less money for their trade-in devices when buying a device during the all-important holiday shopping season.
Macs took some of the biggest hits, as the iMac Pro now fetches up to $600 versus up to its $1,150 previous value. The MacBook Pro now fetches a trade-in value of up to $630, compared with up to $850 previously. iPhone trade-in values have dropped by as much as $70. (In a somewhat interesting twist, the trade-in values of the iPhone XS and iPhone XR have each increased by up to $10.
