Apple Says iOS 16 Update on the Way With Fix for Advertising-Related Issue

Apple’s system status page indicates that it is working on an iOS 16 update that includes a fix for an issue with its advertising framework SKAdNetwork. Apple says the issue began on November 3, but it did not provide any additional details.

“There is an issue impacting SKAdNetwork for users on iOS 16.1,” says Apple. “We are working to quickly resolve this issue in a software update.”

SKAdNetwork allows advertisers to track the success of ads by linking app installations to specific ad campaigns. This allows advertisers to measure how successfully an ad convinced users to download an app from the App Store.

iOS 16.1 was released two weeks ago with SKAdNetwork 4.0.

As reported yesterday, Apple is reportedly prepping to release an iOS 16.1.1 update for the iPhone to address multiple issues and bugs users have discovered since the release of iOS 16.1.
