Bloomberg’s Gurman: No Apple Event This October, No Touch ID for iPhone 15

While Apple is indeed working on new Mac, Apple TV, and iPad Pro models for an October debut, Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman says the Cupertino firm will not debut the new devices at an event this month.

That information comes in the latest edition of Gurman’s Power On newsletter, where he says “the big iPhone 14 unveiling last month was probably it for Apple in 2022 in terms of major presentations.”

This suggests that any new iPad, Mac, and Apple TV releases would debut via press releases, media briefings, and updates to Apple’s online store.

Gurman last week said Apple may not hold an October new product event to show off its remaining 2022 lineup, which should include an updated iPad ProMac mini, and 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models.

He also said an updated Apple TV with an A14 chip and an increased 4GB of RAM was “getting closer and could potentially launch this year.”

While Gurman has indicated that Apple has been testing under-screen Touch ID in recent years, he says he doesn’t expect to see the feature debut on the iPhone 15 or other flagship devices in the near future.
