Apple released iOS 16 to the public two weeks ago. While the new OS certainly brought some great new features, it has also had more than its fair share of bugs, including battery drain, performance issues, and more.
The iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro had a day-one iOS 16.0.1 update available that addressed some issues found with the latest iPhones. Meanwhile, Apple’s iOS 16.0.2 update addressed camera shaking on the iPhone 14 Pro, a pesky copy and paste prompt, and other issues. Despite the updates, users continue to face several unaddressed bugs.
Issues include:
- Issues with iOS 16 Spotlight search
- Excessive battery drain
- CarPlay issues for the iPhone 14 Pro but also reportedly impacting older models on iOS 16
- Some users report that their iPhone’s display is flickering in dark spots under low brightness after updating
Apple is currently testing iOS 16.1 with developers and public beta testers. However, the update isn’t expected to launch until October, likely alongside iPadOS 16.1 and macOS Ventura.
