DigiTimes Report: Apple Suppliers Preparing for Launch of New MacBook Pros Ahead of Expected October Mac Event

A DigiTimes report says Apple’s suppliers are preparing for the launch of new MacBook Pro models, just ahead of an expected October Mac media event. Apple is expected to unveil next-generation 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros, which are expected to be powered by M2 Pro and ‌M2‌ Max chips.

DigiTimes reports that suppliers in the Mac supply chain are getting ready for shipments of next-gen MacBook Pros by slowing production on existing Mac models. The report also notes that Apple suppliers are similarly slowing first-generation AirPods Pro production, following last week’s unveiling of second-generation earbuds last week.

As reported by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple is planning an October event, where it will debut new Mac and iPad models.

The new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models are expected to retain the same design as the models unveiled last October, but will boast improved performance and power efficiency, due to the use of the ‌M2‌ Pro and ‌M2‌ Max chips, which are expected to be based on TSMC’s 5nm process.
