Bloomberg’s Gurman: New AirPods Pro Will Debut at Wednesday’s Apple Event

Apple will be holding a special media event at the Steve Jobs Theater at its Apple Park campus on Wednesday. The company will unveil its new Apple 14 and Apple Watch Series 8 lineups at the event. Also, Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman says he expects Apple to unveil its second-generation AirPods Pro wireless earbuds. Gurman’s comments came in the latest edition of his Power On newsletter.

Gurman did not share when the new earbuds would become available to order or share any pricing information.

“I reported last year that new AirPods Pro would arrive in 2022, and now I’m told that Wednesday will be their big unveiling,” said Gurman.

The new AirPods Pro are rumored to boast an upgraded H2 chip for improved audio quality, a new charging case with Find My support, longer battery life, improved in-ear detection, fitness tracking capabilities, and more. They may also support Bluetooth’s LE Audio specification, which would enable several new benefits, including the ability for the AirPods to connect to multiple devices like an iPhone and Mac simultaneously.

As is usual for predictions like this, we won’t know exactly what Apple will unveil until the event kicks off on Wednesday. We’ll be watching alongside you all and will report on Apple’s announcements, following the event.
