Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman says Apple is planning to hold its first fall event on Wednesday, September 7, which will focus on the iPhone 14 and Apple Watch Series 8 lineups.
Observers expect the standard iPhone 14 lineup to get minimal changes. However, the upcoming iPhone 14 Pro models will boast updated camera technology, a pill-shaped and hole-punch cutout to replace the current front screen notch, an A16 chip, and more.
We expect to see Apple debut four iPhone 14 models, including a 6.1-inch iPhone 14, a 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Max, a 6.1-inch iPhone 14 Pro, and a 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Pro Max. Missing from the lineup will be a 5.4-inch “mini” model, as the “mini” versions of the iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 have not sold in expected numbers.
There are three rumored Apple Watch Series 8 models in the works, including the new Apple Watch Series 8, a refreshed Apple Watch SE, and an all-new “Pro” version of the Apple Watch with a larger and more rugged body, and an updated design.
While Apple is believed to be readying a new low-cost iPad, upgraded iPad Pro models, and Apple Silicon-powered Mac Pro, these devices could debut at a second fall event, likely held in October.
Gurman reports that Apple has told some retail employees to prepare for a new product release on Friday, September 16, indicating that the new iPhone and Apple Watch models could be released on that date.
