Apple has released watchOS 8.7, an update to the watchOS 8 operating system for the Apple Watch. The new update comes two months after the watchOS 8.6 update.
According to Apple’s release notes, watchOS 8.7 focuses on under-the-hood “improvements,” along with bug fixes and important security updates.
watchOS 8.7 can be downloaded for free through the dedicated Apple Watch app on the iPhone by going to “General” -> “Software Update.” The Apple Watch needs to have at least 50% battery charge, needs to be on a charger, and needs to be in the range of the iPhone.
The watchOS 8.7 update is compatible with the Apple Watch Series 3 and later.
