Apple on Tuesday released new firmware for the Siri Remote for the Apple TV. The update brings the remote’s software from version 9M6772 to 10M1103. The software is for the most recent Siri Remote, which was originally released in May 2021, as seen above.
In the Apple TV settings, the new firmware will display as 0x0070, up from 0x0061.
Apple hasn’t announced what new features the Apple TV Siri Remote update brings, but it likely includes minor bug fixes and performance improvements. Apple regularly releases firmware updates for its hardware products. However, it seldom goes into detail about what’s been refreshed.
We don’t currently know of a way to manually update the Siri Remote, but the software will be installed over the air automatically through the Apple TV. The updated Siri Remote is sold with and is compatible with the latest-generation Apple TV 4K and Apple TV HD models. The remote is also sold on a standalone basis.
