Well-connected Apple industry analyst Ming-Chi Kuo believes that although Apple is facing some supply chain issues with iPhone 14 components, it will have only a limited impact on the mass production of the upcoming handsets.
Kuo tweeted that other suppliers can help to make up for component shortages. Kuo said Samsung Display and BOE can mostly fill the initial supply gap caused by LG Display’s issues with the appearance of iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max display panels. Kuo believes it should not take much time for LG Display to address the issue.

1. LPDDR5:
Samsung is almost the sole supplier for 3Q22 and can meet iPhone 14 Pro production ramp-up demand. Micron & SK Hynix will likely ship in 4Q22 at the earliest because the former's certification schedule started later, and the latter encountered quality issues.— 郭明錤 (Ming-Chi Kuo) (@mingchikuo) July 19, 2022

2. Panel:
Samsung and BOE can largely fill the initial supply gap caused by LG Display's panel appearance issues (iPhone 14 Max and iPhone 14, mainly the former). It's expected that LG Display should not take much time to address the issue.— 郭明錤 (Ming-Chi Kuo) (@mingchikuo) July 19, 2022
The September iPhone 14 lineup is expected to include the 6.1-inch iPhone 14, 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Max, 6.1-inch iPhone 14 Pro, and 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Pro Max.
