Apple Releases macOS Monterey 12.5 to Public – Includes Safari and TV App Updates

Apple on Wednesday released macOS Monterey 12.5 to the public. The fifth major update to macOS Monterey, which launched in October 2021, comes a bit more than two months after the release of macOS Monterey 12.4.

The macOS Monterey 12.4 update can be downloaded to compatible Macs via the Software Update section of System Preferences. Like all Mac updates, ‌the macOS Monterey 12.4 update is available free of charge. The update is also available in the Mac App Store.

Apple’s release notes say that ‌macOS Monterey‌ 12.5 adds a bug fix for a Safari tab issue and it adds the option to restart, pause, rewind, or fast-forward a live sports game that’s in progress.

We could be nearing the end of macOS Monterey updates, as Apple his moving its attention to macOS Ventura, which will likely launch this fall.
