NFL Plus Service & NFL Sunday Ticket Could Come to Apple TV+

The NFL’s new NFL Plus streaming service could be carried by Apple TV+ if Apple’s drive to score the NFL’s Sunday Ticket package works out.

Apple is reported to be in talks with the National Football League for the streaming rights to the league’s “Sunday Ticket” package. Some reports indicate a deal has already been reached. In a separate report, the NFL is set to go with the creation of its own streaming service, “NFL Plus.”

A Sports Business Journal report from the NFL owners meeting in Atlanta says that “NFL Plus” is expected to launch in July. The service is expected to run $5 per month, but the report’s unnamed sources say that price is not set in stone.

NFL Plus would be the streaming arm of NFL Media, and the league is reported to be in discussions with multiple companies about an equity stake in that firm. Apple and Amazon are said to be the front runners.

If one of those deals comes to fruition, NFL Plus could be folded into that package. Along with that flexibility, going it alone on this streaming product will give the NFL new data on its users, SBJ’s sources said.
