Apple Watch Saves Man’s Life After Fall From Bike

The Apple Watch has scored another saved life, after a man’s Apple Watch alerted authorities after he fell from his electric bike, sustaining a head injury.

Fox LA reports that at 1:30 am on January 22, the Hermosa Beach Police received an automatic emergency call stating that an Apple Watch owner had taken a hard fall. It then relayed his location information, directing emergency services to the scene. Officers responded to the 300 block of 29th Street after an Apple Watch initiated an emergency 911 call and advised, “Owner of this watch has taken a hard fall.”

The man was treated on-scene then transported to a local hospital for additional treatment. The man was released several days later.

Despite social media reports that the fall was the result of an attack or a crime, local police report that it was a solo accident.
