Analyst Young Says Mini-LED iMac Pro Could Launch in June

Apple has been rumored for months to be readying a new iMac Pro sporting a mini-LED display. Now, analyst Ross Young said today that the new larger-screened iMac Pro could debut as soon as June. If the June estimate is accurate, the new all-in-one Mac could be unveiled at the Worldwide Developers Conference.

While many other rumors have told us to expect a spring launch for the new iMac, Young said in January that he expects a “summer” launch. Young claimed that panel shipments were expected to begin in June and that a launch could follow in August or September, but he appears to have moved that timeline up a few months.

Young says he expects the new iMac to have “around 1000 zones” and “over 4000 miniLEDs.” It will feature a mini-LED backlight. The new 27-inch iMac will be sold as a higher-end alternative to the 24-inch iMac. The new iMac is expected to feature a redesigned look and will be powered by the M1 Pro/M1 Max chips used in 2021 MacBook Pro models.
