As part of Apple’s promotion about its new murder mystery comedy, “The Afterparty,” it is making the series first episode free on YouTube and is also conducting a live Twitter streaming.
“The Afterparty” centers on a murder mystery at a high school reunion. Each of the eight episodes features a retelling of the same night told through a different character’s perspective, each with its own unique visual style and film genre to match the teller’s personality. The series is done in a “Rashomon” style, where every episode tells the same story from a different character’s perspective – and each is also in a different genre.
Apple TV+ is promoting the series by making the first episode available for free on YouTube and is also hosting a live watch party on Twitter.
Viewers can also watch the first episode — as well as two additional episodes — for free in the Apple TV+ app by taking out a trial subscription. The first three episodes of the series were released on Apple TV+ at the same time, while the remaining episodes will launch weekly each Friday.
