Third-Generation iPhone SE Likely to Launch in April/May Based on Display Panel Prediction

Display industry consultant Ross Young says Apple suppliers will begin producing display panels for the third-generation iPhone SE sometime this month, meaning final assembly of the device will likely begin in March.

Young believes that a March assembly timeframe means the new lower-priced iPhone will likely debut in late April to early May. iPhone SE launches have always taken place in the spring, so the timeframe jibes with previous iPhone SE launches.

Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman recently said that Apple will be holding a spring event to announce the new iPhone SE and other new hardware.

Young recently said the third-generation iPhone SE that is widely expected to launch this year will be named the “iPhone SE+ 5G.” The handset is expected to feature the same design as Apple’s current iPhone SE, with a 4.7-inch display, a faster A15 chip, and 5G support.

Young has in the past been reliable when it comes to display-related information for upcoming Apple devices.
