An ongoing issue with Apple’s Calendar app on the iPhone is causing 2022 holidays not to appear for users in several countries. Users in Australia, the United Kingdom, Spain, Germany, Portugal, Sweden, Denmark, and other countries are not seeing holidays for their country show up in the Calendar app.
iPhone users in those countries first noticed that the 2022 holidays were missing around mid-2021. although they assumed that the holidays would show up when January 2022 arrived, the holidays have still not shown up.
United States holidays are properly showing up for U.S. users, so it is not a worldwide issue. The issue may be related to which version of iOS is being run on an iPhone, as MacRumors reports that at least one user that has a device running an older version of iOS says the 2022 holidays are showing up as expected.
Since it appears that a large number of users are impacted by the calendar issue, so it is likely that Apple will address the issue in a future update.
If you’re a UK user and you don’t feel like waiting for Apple to fix the calendar issue, you can download a list of public UK holidays in a format the iPhone can use (ICS). Similar issues may be available, so check with your local sources.
