Bloomberg’s Gurman: Apple Preparing ‘Widest Array of New Hardware Products in Its History’ for Fall

Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman says that Apple will this fall be launching “the widest array” of new devices that Apple has introduced in its history. Gurman’s comments came by way of his latest “Power On” newsletter.

In his latest “Power On” newsletter, Gurman says that Apple is working on four new iPhone models (5G iPhone SE, iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max), a new low-end MacBook Pro, a revamped larger-screened iMac, a new Mac Pro model, a redesigned MacBook Air, AirPods Pro 2, a trio of new Apple Watches (Series 8, SE, and “Rugged”), a low-end iPad, and new models of the iPad Pro.

Gurman says we should see most of the new products during the fall months. However, the larger-screened iMac could debut earlier. Appl has a spring event in the works for March or April, where we’ll see the launch of the 5G iPhone SE, an iPad refresh, and perhaps one Mac.

Apple may announce another M1 Pro-powered Mac at the spring event, which will likely be a high-end iMac or Mac mini, but most of the new Macs will likely debut later in the year.

Gurman speculates that the revamped iPad Pro will boast an M2 chip, along with wireless charging. While the refreshed tablet will likely make a fall debut, due to the updated processor, Apple has submitted regulatory filings for nine new iPad, as well as three new iPhone models, so we could see more than one new iPad unveiled at the spring media event.

While some have rumored that Apple would introduce its AR/VR headset in 2022, other rumors have suggested that the device’s debut may not take place until 2023 as there are issues that need to be worked out.

Apple’s 2021 spring event took place in April, so we’ll likely see a similar timeline for this year’s event. Apple’s next big event after the spring event will be followed by the company’s Worldwide Developers Conference in June.
