Apple Still Struggling to Meet Demand for Revamped 14-Inch and 16-Inch MacBook Pro

It has been three months since the launch of Apple’s revamped 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros and the notebooks continue to be popular, meaning there is a short supply. Shipping dates for both models are currently stretching into multiple weeks in several markets.

As reported by MacRumors, United States customers will face a three to four weeks wait for the baseline 14-inch MacBook Pro with the M1 Pro chip, with an estimated arrival time of around mid-February. Customers face a longer wait for the 14-inch MacBook Pro with the higher-end ‌M1 Pro‌ configuration or the M1 Max chip, stretching well into at least early March.

The larger 16-inch model’s baseline configuration is showing five to six weeks for delivery, while higher configurations are showing shipping dates estimated to be in late February or early March. In the United Kingdom and Canada, the highest-end 16-inch MacBook Pro is currently showing shipping dates of between five and eight weeks on Apple’s online store.

Apple has been forced to deal with a global chip shortage that cost the company $6 billion last quarter, as pandemic-related restrictions have limited MacBook production and high demand for the latest laptops given their major redesign.
