Apple’s upcoming revamped 27-inch iMac will stick with an LCD panel similar to the one that it currently uses, in place of the expected mini-LED display. This comes from a report from DigiTimes.
The report said that while “speculation about the next-generation 27-inch iMac coming with a miniLED display” has been circulating for some time, the new all-in-one desktop machine will, in fact, not feature a mini-LED panel, according to its sources.
This report flies in the face of comments by well-known display analyst Ross Young, who has said that the new iMac will feature a mini-LED panel, along with support for ProMotion.
While the new display will lack mini-LED technology, the DigiTimes report says the LCD display the new iMacs will use is improved by “30-40% from the previous models, giving it a higher brightness,” the report said.
Today’s report also claimed that the revamped 27-inch iMac will be available in various colors, just like the current 24-inch iMac.
The new 27-inch iMac is expected to debut in spring 2022.
