Apple on Thursday released updated firmware for the MagSafe Charger for the iPhone 12 and iPhone 13. The new firmware is version 10M229, up from 9M5069. Apple also updated the MagSafe Battery Pack firmware with the latest version being 2.5.b.0, up from 2.0.2c.0 previously.
The MagSafe Charger debuted in fall 2020 alongside iPhone 12 models and has previously had its firmware updated once since its initial release.
Apple does firmware updates quietly over the air and the Cupertino firm does not provide release notes to indicate any new features or bug fixes that might be included with the update.
While there is no set of steps to manually update the MagSafe Charger’s firmware. However, it does need to be plugged in and connected to an Apple device for a firmware update to occur.
