Netflix Games Now Available on Android, iOS Support ‘On the Way’

Netflix today announced the rollout of its Netflix Games service, which allows Netflix subscribers to play games on their mobile devices. While “Games” is now available for Android devices, Netflix says iOS support is “on the way.”

Netflix says that while the service’s rollout is in its early days, the service will work to build a library of games offering “something for everyone.” Games available today include “Stranger Things: 1984,” “Stranger Things 3: The Game,” “Shooting Hoops,” “Card Blast,” and “Teeter Up.”

To play the games, you will require a Netflix subscription. The service carries no ads and doesn’t offer in-app purchases, which is much like Apple’s gaming service, Apple Arcade, operates.

Members on an Android mobile phone will see a dedicated games row and games tab where you can select any game to download. Members on an Android tablet will see a dedicated games row or be able to select games from the categories drop-down menu to download and play.

At this point in time, we don’t know for sure how the iOS version of Netflix Games will work. Netflix may offer an app that lists gaming titles, with links to games in the App Store. They may also offer a web-based solution, streaming the games.
