Apple has updated its popular Shazam music recognition app for iOS today. The update brings the ability to find more songs by analyzing the audio for a longer time before displaying a result. Apple acquired the music recognition service in 2018.
The updated Shazam app is free and is available in the App Store. Version 15.0 of the app also integrates with Control Center and Siri on devices running iOS 14.2 and iPadOS 14.2 and later.
Shazam will usually listen for a few seconds before identifying a song. The app will listen for longer periods if it can’t quite hear or make out the song that’s being played.
Shazam passed the one billion song recognition milestone in June, making it one of the most popular music-related apps around the globe.
