Ming-Chi Kuo: Apple Watch Series 8 to Boast Temperature Sensors, New AirPods to Include Health Features

The expected unveiling of Apple’s new Apple Watch Series 7 is just a few days away, so of course, we’re going to discuss possible new features we’ll see when the Apple Watch Series 8 debuts a year from now. Apple industry analyst Ming-Chi Kuo today shared some information about what to expect with the 2022 version of the Apple Watch, as well as future versions of Apple’s AirPods.

Kuo says the demand for Apple Watch Series 8 may be high next year, despite the design changes that are expected to be coming to this year’s Series 7 wearables, due to the addition of new health sensors that will be in the Series 8. Kuo’s remarks came in an investor note shared by 9to5Mac.

Kuo says the next-generation Apple Watch will have temperature measurement capabilities, which would allow users to measure their body temperature using just the Watch. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman said last month that a body temperature sensor may be included in next year’s Apple Watch.

Kuo also commented on Apple’s AirPods plans, saying he believes that Apple will be adding health features to its wireless earphones in about two years. However, Kuo did not specify which feature he was referring to, or which model AirPods will receive the features.
